La banda holandesa de death metal Pestilence volver\u00e1 a M\u00e9xico como parte de la celebraci\u00f3n del Hell and Heaven Metal Fest, el cual se realizar\u00e1 los d\u00edas 14 y 15 de marzo en el Deportivo Parque Ocean\u00eda, con cuya edici\u00f3n cumplir\u00e1 10 a\u00f1os de llevarse a cabo en M\u00e9xico, ya constitu\u00eddo como el festival de metal m\u00e1s grande e importante de Latinoam\u00e9rica. Los europeos estar\u00e1n celebrando los 30 a\u00f1os del disco \u201cConsuming Impulse\u201d el cual ser\u00e1 interpretado en su totalidad, algo que va deleitar a todos los fans y donde seguramente a\u00f1adir\u00e1n canciones de su \u00faltimo disco \u201cHadeon\u201d (Hammerheart Records, 2018) y alg\u00fan \u00e9xito m\u00e1s.<\/b><\/p>\n

Reconocidos en el mundo entero como uno de los iconos del metal europeo, los holandeses Pestilence han sido precursores de la fusi\u00f3n del metal y el jazz, logrando un sonido \u00fanico que los llev\u00f3 r\u00e1pidamente al \u00e9xito, con sus tres primeros discos \u201cMalleus Maleficarum\u201d (1988), \u201cConsuming Impulse\u201d (1989) y \u201cTestimony Of The Ancient\u201d (1991). En esta nueva visita, el conjunto tocar\u00e1 de manera \u00edntegra su segundo \u00e1lbum, adem\u00e1s de los cl\u00e1sicos m\u00e1s destacados de su carrera. Fundada en 1986, Pestilence incorporar\u00eda elementos de Jazz fusi\u00f3n a su m\u00fasica que quedaron enmarcados en cuatro discos antes de separarse en 1994 y volver a reunirse en 2008.<\/b><\/p>\n

La popularidad de la banda creci\u00f3 exponencialmente con cada \u00e1lbum, pero desafortunadamente tambi\u00e9n las tensi\u00f3n entre los miembros, por lo cual despu\u00e9s de alg\u00fan tiempo la banda decide separarse, sintiendo que hab\u00edan alcanzado su cl\u00edmax creativo. En 1994, Roadrunner records lanza un \u00faltimo CD de Pestilence, un best-of titulado Mind Reflections, conteniendo canciones de sus cuatro \u00e1lbums, m\u00e1s la rara canci\u00f3n “Hatred Within” (incluida originalmente en el compilatorio Teutonic Invansion Part II) y seis canciones in\u00e9ditas en vivo grabadas durante el Dynamo Open Air Festival en 1992. En 1998, Displeased records relanza el Malleus Maleficarum, que inclu\u00eda sus dos demos de 1986 y 1987.<\/b><\/p>\n

En 2006, Metal Wars productions, trabajando con Martin Van Drunen, lanza Chronicles of the Scourge, conteniendo dos grabaciones en vivo y un bonus track in\u00e9dito. Los dos conciertos son Live “Kix Festival”-Veghel, Holanda (junio 24 de 1989) y Live Bochum, Alemania (noviembre 18 de 1988). Un “rehearsal disc” fue incluido con las primeras 1000 copias. En 2008 Patrick Mameli anuncia la reuni\u00f3n del grupo y el posterior lanzamiento de un nuevo \u00e1lbum titulado Resurrection Macabre el pr\u00f3ximo 17 de marzo -2009-. Dicho trabajo tendr\u00eda 11 temas nuevos, m\u00e1s 3 cl\u00e1sicos regrabados (Out of the Body, Chemo Therapy y Lost Souls) que solo aparecer\u00e1n en la primera edici\u00f3n. \u201cHadeon\u201d es, hasta el momento, su \u00faltima referencia discogr\u00e1fica.<\/b><\/p>\n
