Con la finalidad de apuntalar el staff de lanzadores escarlatas, los Diablos Rojos firmaron al lanzador boricua Giovanni Soto, que ya tuvo la oportunidad de debutar en las Grandes Ligas con los Indios de Cleveland en el 2015.<\/div>\n

En el 2008 Giovanni Soto fue drafteado por los Filis de Filadelfia y en al a\u00f1os siguiente firm\u00f3 con los Tigres de Detroit con los que estuvo en su sistema de sucursales hasta el 2010, Soto lleg\u00f3 a los Indios de Cleveland en el 2011 en cambio por Jhonny Peralta y perteneci\u00f3 a la tribu hasta el 2015 llegando a lanzar en clase AAA y llamado al equipo grande ese mismo a\u00f1o\u00a0para debutar el 5 de septiembre frente a Detroit.<\/div>\n

En la pelota invernal ha jugado desde el 2009 con Arecibo, San Juan y Carolina, y en tres ocasiones ha visto acci\u00f3n en la Serie del Caribe representando a Puerto Rico, la mas reciente en la edici\u00f3n pasada realizada en San Juan, Puerto Rico, y enfrent\u00f3 a los Tomateros de Culiac\u00e1n en el segundo juego del cl\u00e1sico caribe\u00f1o.<\/div>\n

En su paso por AAA y beisbol invernal ha ganado 22 juegos, en 350 entradas y dos tercios de labor, con 318 ponches a cambio de 161 pasaportes y una efectividad de 2.87 en promedio de carreras limpias admitidas. Sin duda un brazo fuerte y con experiencia que estar\u00e1 disponible para el manager escarlata Sergio Gast\u00e9lum.<\/div>\n
